The buzzword “Christian nationalism” is often mentioned in connection with Donald Trump and the MAGA movement (“Make America Great Again”). It stands for a smorgasbord of ideas and combines nationalism and racism with fundamentalist biblical beliefs and a brand of liberalism that wants to cut back the state “with a chainsaw.” However, these ideas are not entirely consistent with each other. How can God rule over all areas of the state and society when the core issue is maximum freedom for the individual? This lecture sheds light on the thicket of contradictions.
