GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
General Terms and Conditions (GTC) for language courses
1. Registration
Registrations must be made in writing. A registration is binding even if the course fee has not yet been debited or transferred by the start of the course. The registration form can be used to authorize direct debit.Upon registration, a contract is concluded between the participant and the German-American Institute Nuremberg. The General Terms and Conditions are an integral part of this contract. As a rule, no further confirmation will be sent after registration. Only in the case of course or program changes will a notification be sent.
2. Course fees
The prices can be found in the current language course brochure or on our homepage (www.dai-nuernberg.de). The German-American Institute's language course brochure usually features two prices, a lower price for DAI members/students and a slightly higher price for non-members. The course fee does not include costs for textbooks and materials (unless otherwise stated in the course description). If a course proves to be unsuitable (too demanding or not demanding enough) for the participant, it is generally possible to change to another course, provided it is not fully booked. This change may result in a partial refund or additional payment.
3. Withdrawal and change of course
In the event of withdrawal up to one week before the start of the course at the latest, the DAI will charge an administrative fee of € 10, € 15 in the week before the start of the course. If the withdrawal occurs after the first course date, € 15,- and a pro rata course fee will be charged. After the second course date, withdrawal is no longer possible. Cancellation must be made in writing or in person at the secretary's office.
4. Withdrawal or termination by the DAI
If the minimum number of participants has not been reached at the start of the course or if there are other objectively justified reasons, the DAI reserves the right to cancel the course and to terminate it during the course. The fee already paid will be refunded pro rata. Further claims or claims for damages by participants are expressly excluded.
5. Applies to all courses:
Course-free days: Public holidays.
Absence from the course does not constitute withdrawal! If the minimum number of participants for a course is not reached, the DAI is not obliged to hold or continue the course. In this case, it is also possible to run the course with a smaller number of participants at an additional cost or with a shorter duration. This will be discussed with the interested parties. The DAI reserves the right to combine courses if there are fewer participants and the level of knowledge is roughly the same. For language courses, DAI only employs native English-speaking lecturers.
6. Liability
The DAI accepts no liability for loss of property during programs in or outside the institute or for accidents during courses or on the way to and from the classrooms. Should a program be cancelled or have to be interrupted or in the event of force majeure, the DAI is not obliged to provide any services. The DAI reserves the right to make necessary changes to the information in the program, in particular the use of substitutes. No liability can be accepted for errors, changes in fees and printing errors.
7. Data protection
The collection, storage and processing of personal data takes place on a voluntary basis. The data is used for internal purposes. Data protection is taken into account in accordance with the statutory provisions (BDSG)
